Update-Former Nursing Home Employee Takes Plea Deal in Nursing Home Abuse Case
The certified nursing assistant accused of abusing her patients at a nursing home pled guilty to four counts of neglect of an at-risk victim. The investigation began when the facility director found a note under his door alleging that the employee hit patients and put patient’s soiled underwear in their faces. According to interviews, coworkers witnessed her rub a patient’s feces on the patient’s face, and yell and threaten patients.
The staff member was involved in a prior abuse incident at the facility as well.The staff member was suspended and later terminated and the case was referred to police. Police arrested her and charged her with assault, negligence causing bodily injury, neglect, menacing and harassment. The former employee pled guilty to the four counts.
