    The daughter-in-law and grandson of an elderly resident who allegedly died due to the neglect of the nursing home where she was residing.     A certified nursing assistant working at a nursing home was indicted for hitting a vulnerable elderly adult on the head. The nursing home assistant was caring at the facility where the elderly adult was a patient at the time of the alleged incident.   • Less Than 90% Of Nursing Home Care Complaints Validated Based On State Report

    A report has been released regarding survey reports in one state where out of 507 complaints, only 43 were validated as violations of care. The report came from a legal aid group where surveys had been studied and analyzed over a period of time from 2012 to 2014. "It stretches belief to suggest that 92% of complaints filed by residents, their families, or the ombudsman were unfounded," the report said.   Read More...
