The search for 73-year-old missing nursing home resident was reduced Thursday evening as the Sheriff’s Office will no longer seek the assistance of a search and rescue organization. According to police, unless new leads are developed, the agency cannot seek additional assistance from the organization.

The 73-year-old man has been missing since August 21. He walked out of one of the exit doors of the nursing home unnoticed by staff members. Law enforcement and search volunteers have been looking for for the man in areas near major roads, wooded areas, and along the nearby railroad tracks.

The man, who will be 74 years old in November, suffers from schizophrenia, dementia, Parkinson's disease and diabetes. For more, read the story.
