Facility for Disabled Residents May Have Neglected Safety Protocol
One nursing home for persons with physical and psychological ailments has reportedly neglected to take precautions for its residents’ safety. If a nursing home participates in Medicaid and/or Medicare programs, there are specific criteria that the facility must strictly follow. According to its state’s Department of Health, staff at this facility were not adequately protecting the residents from various types of physical and sexual abuse.
This facility has faced issues in the past, from a reported sexual assault of a resident by an aide as well as failure to cease and prevent physical fights among residents. According to the facility, a plan of action to retrain its staff is in the works. For more, read the story.
