Family Asks State to Take Action Against Assisted Living Facility
After developing Parkinson's, a woman in Florida was moved by loved ones to the Pacifica Senior Living of Palm Beach County. Shortly after moving in, the woman's daughter learned that the assisted living facility staff were not following her mother's dietary restrictions. The daughter estimated that, after may weeks of her mother not eating meals, that she was probably not eating four times a week.
The Agency for Health Care Administration gave the facility the chance to fix "all deficiencies" before being fined, but the resident's family stated that the problems only escalated. Allegations of mismanaged medication and assaults from other residents are among some of the accusations again the facility.
