Health and Safety Deficiencies in Nursing Home Facility Result in over $85,000 Fine

A nursing home in one state just received a hefty fine for several health and safety deficiencies. The fine was one of this state’s largest penalties in the past three years. A more serious offense was the nursing staff’s failure to disinfect shared medical equipment between various patients at the facility. Among those patients that used the improperly disinfected and/or soiled equipment, some were noted to have bloodborne diseases. For more, read the story.
