Investigation Begins after Former Employees of a Veterans’ Retirement Home Report Mistreatment of Residents
A former cook and former housekeeper of a veterans’ retirement home have publicly reported mistreatment of the home’s residents. According to the former employees, some residents were victims of staff negligence and carelessness, poor living conditions, bed bug infestations, and insufficient treatment and prevention of medical conditions, among other claims.
One of the former employees stated she could no longer continue to work at the home due to the “unconscionable treatment” of the veterans. Corporate responded, mentioning that that certain federal and state laws prohibited the discussion of the home's healthcare matters. For more, read the story.
