Nursing Home Aides Lower Ratings Due To Social Media Posts
A specific nursing home found itself off to a good start in the year when its annual survey in February resulted in no deficiencies or enforcement from the state. They received an above state average score and even had the top rating over all the facilities in their company, that is, until two of their nursing aides posted embarrassing videos of the residents on personal social media accounts.
Despite the fact that the two aides were fired and banned for life from working with elderly residents due to the abuse they showed the residents, this incident lowered the facility's score . People have a difficult time placing their loved ones in nursing homes because they want to make sure that can be taken care of correctly. The purpose of the rating system is to help families choose the right nursing home for their loved ones. People trying to find the right nursing home for whatever reason are strongly advised to check out the facility’s rating. If the facility has a lower than average score, it would be wise to ask questions and select a home with caution. For more, read the story.
