Nursing Home Caregiver Allegedly Failed to Report and Treat a Patient's Fall, Patient Later Dies from Injuries
One nursing home employee is facing multiple charges after allegedly neglecting a patient in her care. According to court documents, the employee purportedly failed to notify medical staff that one patient had fallen from bed and potentially sustained injuries. Documents continue to claim that the employee simply placed the patient back in bed and pretended to be unaware of the fall.
It was later determined the nursing home patient suffered a serious head injury and later died in transit to the hospital. The employee is now facing charges of reckless manslaughter, obstruction, and neglect of the elderly for her failure to report the fall which may have saved the patient’s life.
