    A former nursing home employee made a plea deal after being charged on two counts with sexually assaulting a patient. The former employee was sentenced to 18 months in prison.     Two nursing home lawsuits are in the process of settling.  One lawsuit involves a patient who wandered from the facility.  The patient died and the facility was fined $25,000. The state cited that the facility "failed to ensure the door alarm to the courtyard on the facility's Alzheimer's Unit was engaged and the door not propped open."     Veteran nursing homes are under scrutiny for their quality of healthcare after recent surveys revealed issues with care. In an unannounced survey, two nurses were caught sleeping on the job.
