    According to the Department of Social Services in one state, 11,123 instances of elder abuse were reported in 2017. Examples of elder abuse can range from neglect, exploitation, emotional and physical abuse, sexual abuse, and other forms.   • One State Seeing Increase In Elder Abuse Cases Opened

    One state has seen an increase in the reporting of elder abuse after an effort to train law enforcement on what constitutes abuse. The state is attributing the new education endeavor for the increase in cases opened citing elder abuse.     An adult day care employee has been convicted of elder abuse. The family hired her to be a caregiver for their loved one after his wife of 40 years died of cancer.
