Nursing Home Facilities Are Under New Deadlines To Enact Backup Power
Hurricane plans are underway, however, many nursing home facilities still have not established their backup power should they lose power from the storm. New rules were created in the wake of a previous hurricane, where patients died after the power went out. Nearly half of the facilities due to implement the new emergency plan for backup power have yet to do so.
Many have requested extensions and have been granted them. However, with a Category 3 hurricane on the horizon, the extensions may be moot when it comes to patient safety. For more, read the story.
