Nursing Home Facilities Identified As "Red Flag" Facilities Due to Deficiencies
Nursing home facilities receive deficiencies when they are “found to be out of compliance with a regulation intended to ensure residents’ health and safety.” “In the past 18 months, at least 44 facilities on the list were cited for deficiencies that resulted in ‘actual harm’ to residents or put them in ‘immediate jeopardy’ of being harmed," according to a non-profit advocating for better care.
These 44 facilities have been identified as "red flag" facilities based on the amount of deficiencies they have received. The increase in deficiencies is being attributed to a greater awareness and efficiency of reporting by loved ones. For more, read the story.
