Nursing Home Facility Facing Additional Lawsuit for Resident on Resident Abuse
A nursing home facility who just recently lost a case via jury trial for resident on resident abuse is facing another lawsuit. According to a report, the facility changed its name following the jury’s verdict of over $3,000,000. The newest lawsuit is claiming the facility is understaffed, financially-driven, and unsympathetic to the safety of its current residents.
According to the lawsuit, a 92-year-old demented resident was allegedly beaten by the same resident which resulted in the prior verdict. The lawsuit also alleges the facility’s staff-to-resident ratio is 1:28, even for residents with special needs, such as dementia. For more, read the story.
