Nursing Home Files Twenty-Nine Reports in February, Abuse and Neglect among the Categories

One nursing home reportedly filed twenty-nine incident reports last month. Among these reports, many had the tags and/or references of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Some other reports included burns, lacerations, and malfunctioning of medical equipment. Incidents like these, or any type of accident, must be reported to the Department of Health by nursing home facilities.

According to the nursing home spokesperson, the size of this facility should be taken into account when observing the ratio of incidents from other facilities. The spokesperson also stated that some of the incidents/accidents may not be as severe as they appear, due to the broad nature of the categories. For more, read the story.
