Nursing Home Fined For Patient Death
A nursing home facility was fined $552,000 after a nursing home patient's negligent death. The nursing home facility failed to report to the family that the patient wandered from the facility and was found lying in a parking lot before being sent to the hospital. When the patient returned from the hospital the nursing home facility failed to provide adequate care.
The patient died the afternoon he was released from the hospital. The patient suffered from dementia, hallucinations and other issues, and as a result needed proper supervision to provide adequate care. For more, read the story
