Nursing Home Neglect Follows Underfunding Of Facility
Nursing home care is suffering due to underfunding which leads to understaffing and a lack of supplies. One family found that their mother had an untreated wound for over a month. The lack of care resulted in a necessary leg amputation. The facility was short on supplies and staffing.
However, the owners of the nursing home among other nursing homes had received a high payment from the nursing homes they managed and owned. The funding that should have gone into maintaining a higher quality of care went into the pockets of the owners instead. The family sued the nursing home and addressed the ownership's payment from the nursing home's profit in the lawsuit. For more, read the story.
