Nursing Home Patient Dies, Representative Sues

The representative of a nursing home patient has filed a lawsuit for $2.3 million in damages for injury and wrongful death due to a patient's fall and death at a nursing home facility. The patient was allowed to fall in another patient's room and was placed back in his bed wheelchair and then his bed with a hip fracture. The nursing home delayed in sending him to a hospital. 

"Facility staff found him on the floor of another resident's room, lying in the fetal position and complaining of pain on the left side of his head from striking the floor," the lawsuit states. He also suffered an 8 centimeter skin tear to his left elbow according to the lawsuit, but the patient's hip injury initially was not noticed. For more, read the story
