Nursing Home Patients Receive Easter Baskets

As many celebrated Easter with family and in church services, one family chose to celebrate with the elderly in nursing homes. Concerned that patients would not receive visits and have opportunities to spend with their family for Easter, a mother/daughter team decided to bring Easter to them. They compiled and delivered 110 Easter baskets, specially chosen to hook to the patients chairs, beds, and walkers.

The patients enjoyed visits from the mother and daughter, as well as sweet treats. The community helped purchase the treats. "Most people don't even get visitors," said the daughter. "So they were extremely happy to see us and get little gifts. Some were just grinning. I was just really helpful to be able to give back." For more, read the story.
