Nursing Home Repeats Care Violations, Still In Operation
A nursing home has been under fire for repeated violations and fines cited by the state health department. The violations have taken place over the past year and a half. However, the facility is still in operation. The facility was banned for a period of time from reimbursements. However, they have since been reinstated. The facility is listed in the bottom 1% of facilities in the state.
Violations include reviving a patient with a DNR, leaving patients in soiled linens, and stealing from patients financially and abusing them. One patient has offered her thoughts in anonymous interviews for fear of retaliation. "I don't know what's stopping someone from suing," a resident said one recent afternoon, lying in her private room in a urine-soaked adult diaper. For more, read the story.
