  • Nursing Home Caregiver Captured on Video, Admitted Neglecting a Patient

    A caregiver in one nursing home facility was charged after a fellow employee who was suspicious of elder abuse recorded video surveillance in the facility. The surveillance showed the first caregiver allegedly pushing a demented patient in the head then proceeding to eat the patient’s meal.     A wrongful death lawsuit that has been pending for several years recently reached a settlement agreement just hours before the case was to be tried in court. According to the lawsuit, the decedent, who was a retired Circuit Court judge, was admitted to a hospital for an infection and was later discharged to a nursing home facility.
