Nursing Home Resident is Struck by a Train After Wandering Away
A nursing home resident has died from injuries sustained when a train struck her. The Department of Public Safety said that the accident victim was a 71-year-old resident of a nearby nursing home care center.
The woman apparently left the facility and walked to the train tracks Thursday. According to the Department of Public Safety, the woman was sitting by the tracks when the train came through.
Details of how, or when the nursing home resident wandered away from the facility have not yet been released. The nursing home however, has released a statement calling what happened a "tragic accident." For more, read the story.
