Nursing Home Resident’s Bowels Rupture, Lawsuit Filed Alleging Staff Negligence
A lawsuit is born following an incident in 2018 where an elderly woman perished from alleged nursing home negligence. The lawsuit’s claim states the nursing home facility failed to adequately “care for [the patient], resulting in pain, suffering and death.”
According to patient’s family, the elderly woman required laxatives, which the family claims was sufficiently explained to the staff. When the patient did not receive the laxatives, her bowels ruptured, and she died eight weeks later. During those few weeks following the rupture, the patient underwent two emergency surgeries.
