Nursing Home Under Investigation For Decreased Staffing
A nursing home facility is under investigation for the poor quality care it is offering to its patients. The facility has decreased nursing staff by 54% percent in the past few months. Half of its nursing staff was laid off according to the investigative report. The ratio of patient care increased from 1 nurse for every 20 patients to 1 nurse for every 40 patients.
“Patients, family members and their nurses deserve far better than what we’ve seen out of Sapphire,” Skoufis wrote. “From the reports I’ve received, the level of care has been ravaged due to the for-profit owners’ excessive cuts. The Department of Health needs to intervene, and quickly.” For more, read the story.
