Nursing Homes Prepare For Hurricane Florence By Evacuating Patients

Nursing home patients have been evacuated and transported to other facilities in the wake of Hurricane Florence. Nursing home owners are taking greater precautions after the deaths of a dozen nursing home patients last year. The deaths were due to power outages that stopped air conditioning units from working. 

The heat killed multiple patients whose bodies could not withstand the increased temperatures. Now other nursing home facilities do not want to face the same heat for themselves or their patients. For more, read the story
