One State's Health Officials Failed to Investigate Neglect and Abuse in Nursing Homes, According to New Report
A recent report released by one state’s Auditor General claims the state’s health leaders have failed to sufficiently investigate claims against nursing home facilities where abuse and neglect had been reported. “The report makes sweeping statements about public health and safety risks and is a non-representative sample that looks at five long-term care facilities representing less than 1% of all the licenses the department regulates,” said a state official in response to the report.
