  • Nursing Home Staff Neglected to Perform CPR on Multiple Residents, Despite Facility Policy

    One nursing home prompted an investigation by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) after two patients died under staff care. According to records from CMS, neither patient had a Do Not Resuscitate order and no advance directive.   • Licensed Practical Nurse at Nursing Home May Serve Ten Years in Prison for Neglect or Abuse

    A Licensed Practical Nurse at a nursing home facility has been formally charged with abuse and/or neglect of a patient. The victim was under the nurse’s care and supervision when the victim was allegedly struck across the mouth and had his or her skin maliciously pinched by the nurse.The pretrial conference was scheduled following the indictment of the nurse.
