Report Finds Slow and Inaccurate Reporting of Nursing Home Abuse in One State
One state is reportedly neglecting to timely and accurately report instances of nursing home abuse and neglect. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ("CMS") oversee nursing home affairs and strive to report accurate and complete information to its public website. The accuracy of these reports is vital, especially for families who are researching the safest and highest rated nursing home facility for their loved ones. “Complete information on nursing home abuse for at least the last several years is important to several aspects of how CMS oversees nursing home quality, including CMS’s ability to identify and address patterns of abuse within and across nursing homes in [this state].” For more, read the story.
