Nursing Home Resident Falls From Third-Story Window To Her Death
Authorities are investigating the death of a resident of a nursing home who fell to her death Thursday morning.
The local police chief said the body of the 89-year-old woman was found shortly after 6 a.m. below the window of her third-floor room.
The Medical Examiner's office is treating the death as a suicide.
"We don't know what really happened," said her daughter "... I don't know how she got out that window."
A spokesman for the nursing home said that when the incident occurred, "The staff was working with the residents, getting them breakfast and getting them showered."
She said the staff member who was working with the deceased woman was getting tea for her at the time she fell. She said members of the facility's staff called 911 and rushed to the woman's side to administer aid. For more, read the story.
